THE GODS OF GENESIS
This reminded me of what I read some time ago on a Mormon Fundamentalist Forum. In substance, that the Gods came here with their wives, and I personally think under the authority of Adam.
It makes sense to me to say that gods or humans were "imported" to this world, like animals and the flora which were "commanded" to propagate "after their own kind".

I think the same applied to humans, "imported" to propagate "after their own kind". If humans had been created, and not imported, then it would have been after a long evolution, and certainly not as Genesis states it!
I believe women were included in the organization of this world as "co-creators", as male and female, in "our" likeness, they humans created. Besides, I read somewhere that Jehovah" was a compound name that included male and female elements, the female element sounding like the name/title Eve. Yet it was Adam (whom I believe is the Jehovah of the O.T and the father of Jesus) who spoke to Abraham, Moses (who in Jewish Lore saw Michael's shape in the burning bush) and with Joshua (the captain was a title of Michael as I understand it).
The likeness and image of God are all over the O.T. Abraham, Moses, Joshua saw him as a man. Not only were there a plurality of Gods, but they also were anthropomorphic (or let's say humans are theomorphic)

These are all thoughts I have had and I have to say I agree with them. Another thought I have had, because I can't discount evolution, is that perhaps evolution happened along side the Gods coming to Earth and the humans evolved are those who are referred to in the scriptures as the worldly women. I remember being so confused that Cain went and married a woman of somewhere else. Who was this woman if Adam and Eve were the first humans? Why was she off in another corner rather than with the rest of the family? What if we had the Gods and humans evolving and then they began mating?
Just some thoughts I have thrown around...
And just out of curiosity you wouldn't happen to be the founder of a Yahoo group my husband, Rob, and I are a part of would you? :)

Maggie, your idea about evolution going alongside is an interesting one. Very interesting actually. There's also another thought I had: Maybe evolution is how men originally came to be on other worlds, and our God came to this Earth to people it. Maybe we'll have to wait to know the entire truth.
As for Cain's wife, it is possible than Adam had associates (other Gods under his jurisdiction) when he came to this Earth.
Oh, and yes, I am the founder of the group you guys belong to. I know I like your posts, just wish they were more frequent ;)
